A quick & simple, but powerful activity to try…

November 1, 2017

Throughout a day a lot of things happen. Some great, some pretty good, some not so good and some really not so good…

What tends to consumes your mind?

The good things or the not so good things?

Taking a guess, I’d say, for the majority of us the negative/s consume our minds. For example, we may have 8 positive things happen in a day and 1 negative. What do you tend to focus on?

A negative state of mind can trigger stress, overwhelm and result in us being below our best.

However, there is good news.

Science tells us, we can rewire our brains to focus on the good things. But… it takes practice.

Consistent practice…

One way we can practice is through an activity called Positive Reflection.

Here is the activity:

Through practicing this simple positive reflection activity everyday, overtime we can rewire our brains to focus on the good things in our day.

You may also find you start reframing different events across the day to see them in a more positive way. Learning how to reframe is a powerful skill to learn.

At school, something to try is to start a positive reflection journal. Have students at the end of each day complete the positive reflection activity.

At home, you can introduce the activity to your own children and partner.

Feel free to share by commenting below, other activities that help you to focus on the positives.
